Association Advisors NJ was proud to be a sponsor at the NJ Cooperator Expo again this year. We had booths in the 200 aisle of the expo and were glad to see so many people interested in our Management Services.
Bonnie Bertan, President of Association Advisors NJ lead an educational seminar entitled, “Atten – Hut: Are Your Meetings a “Board Room” or “War Room”?.” Attendance at this seminar was standing room only prior to starting. Ms. Bertan addressed many issues that can turn an association meeting chaotic. Some of these issues included how to establish consistent policies and procedures, planning and presentation of projects and avoiding budget pitfalls, effective communications as well as open meeting do’s and don’ts. In this technology-wise world, Ms. Bertan also spoke about cyber-attacks and cyber insurance and their importance to your community.
Other industry professionals addressed topics such as legal requirements for open association board meetings and the best way to take and publish minutes for these meetings. Reserve study types and recommendations as they relate to annual budgets and community health were also hot topics addressed at the seminar.
