The Delaware Valley Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI) honored Horizons at Woods Landing as a Gold Star community in December 2015. This is a very prestigious award, that only a few communities in southern New Jersey have attained. CAI’s Gold Star Community program recognizes those communities that work hard to develop and maintain standards, encourage community participation, maintain fiscal stability and positively impact the quality of life for residents. Association Advisors (AA) has been our management company for the past four years and was instrumental in this achievement.
A Gold Star Community is industry recognized as a community that is:
- Managed utilizing the best practices in community association management.
- Financially healthy with planned reserves for future needs.
- Committed to protect and improve the quality of life and value of property in the community.
- More marketable to potential homebuyers through sound management and community involvement.
We met the first criteria primarily due to the excellent support that AA has given us as our management company. We would not have been recognized without the excellent service they have provided over the past four years. In addition, we received significant assistance from AA and their property manager in completing the application.
Thoughtful and professional advice from AA as our management company, and their community managers, enabled us to meet the other three criteria listed above. Bonnie Bertan, Larry Sauer, Mary Visco, Dawn Mackanic and the entire AA team have given us great support and advice the entire time they have worked for us.
The Executive Board at Horizons at Woods Landing view the CAI Gold Star program as a highly regarded standard for excellence in all facets of community management. Receiving this award from an independent organization of community management experts, confirms to our residents that their community is being managed to the highest standards in the industry. This award also makes our community much more appealing to prospective residents, resulting in strong property values.
